It's absolutely true. More attention he gets from either side is a W for him. Engaging with him seriously n promoting him to people who might not have heard of him is just doing his job for him. he's deliberately offensive, stupid, over the top. His fans don't care if what he's saying has any basis in reality or not. He mixes in the extreme right wing s*** with comical exaggeration n a cartoonish persona. Taking him seriously does nothing but promote him but people will happily do it for content since he's a big thing on the internet rn.

They must either agree with him and not view those things as awful and morally wrong or are choosing to be willfully ignorant.
Is that stuff in his self help/psychology writings?
I've seen enough bad to not want to jump into anything this guy's done but a close friend of mine has been telling me about a book of his that's been really helpful to him.
When I brought some of this stuff up he seemed to truthfully express that it wasn't in there and I didn't want to go into a whole long conversation about something he didn't actually come across

I personally haven't read his self help stuff but a lot of the criticisms I've heard about have mentioned that the evangelical conservatism stuff is kinda the underlying message, but I guess that could be easy to miss if you aren't religious or didn't grow up in a religious household.
Though none of the things I mentioned aren't really new to JP's overall ideology. They've been present ever since he and the rest of the "intellectual dark web" came to prominence, so I think in some aspects all of that stuff serves as the base for his writing and preps his readers to be open to his more extreme views.
I don't really think there's any danger in reading his self help stuff and taking away some things that help you but the dangerous part comes when his readers do take that next step and start engaging with his stuff that is actually harmful to people.

his early psychology stuff is unironically good and helpful but the moment he touches anything to do with philosophy or politics he goes off the f***ing deep end
