i feel like rape and SA get used interchangeably so much i almost don't know what the difference is when people claim it but badgering someone into sexual activities so they finally give in is SA at a minimum and I'd feel fine calling it rape

im not excusing the behavior, i think its wrong and he deserves to be s*** on for it to be clear, but considering the specifics of the allegations (i.e. some saying penetrative s***didnt happen), i do feel like saying its rape is kinda pushing it a little. not in terms of his reputation or whatever, i dont especially care about that, but i do think it kinda mutates the definition of a word that should indicate an incredibly significant severity of behavior

nah its not really that i worry about it like that. im not worried about men doing s***ty things and having the wrong label assigned to them. im worried more about when terms get diluted, it doesnt relaly imply the full extent of consequences of certain actions. like for example if people refer to rape colloquially as just like being in sexually uncomfortable scenarios, and then people are like "dont get blackout drunk at parties, its dangerous and you could raped", people dont always make the connection the "rape" isnt the same colloquial as it was used prior to refer to something less severe. i know this s*** sounds stupid but teenagers can be very naive and inexperienced socially and theyre the ones primarily consuming this discourse when its from places like twitter/tiktok
