Yet, you can't hear it in any of their music, with the exception of Lupe (at points) and don't think you're slick for putting Jeezy twice in that struggle list.

100% and it’s not even a bad thing. Like it’s so stupid if someone thinks future isn’t the more influential figure at this point

It's not like you said that he was better and more successful or anything like that, you're stating the obvious. Future is hands down more influential (as of now) than 3k.

Who are people sounding like more today though? Thug or 3k

Lorde being more influential to art hoes than Bowie? Yea probably. They art b****es.

    But music period? Bowie lol

There are absolutely more mainstream artists today that sound like Lorde than Bowie. I mean, what does Bowie even sound like? He was a sonic chameleon. Lorde has a very specific sonic palette that has influenced pop music. Bowie tried everything and that is what inspired people.

When talking about influence, it's easy to point at obvious soundalikes, but when you're talking about artists like 3k, Pharrell, Kanye, etc. it's also about attitude and style. There's so much that those legends left behind that can't be captured on record.

All I'm saying is discussions of influence are complex.

You dont have to use 808s trap beats or use melodies to sound or be influenced by a rapper

Yo you listed 2 rappers who will forever be way more important and influential than 3k btw (Kanye and Wayne)

    2. You gave me 9 rappers. Now if we talking strictly 2010s for future then it’s gana be 9 vs 50. Every artist post 2013 took futures style of cadence and melodies. Alongside thug. Everyone sounds like them. It’s the go to sound. 3k isn’t as influential as future and never will be.

Yea it’s complex but in this particular discussion it isn’t. It’s future vs 3k as of right now. Pretty obvious who it is man lol

Damn, stop using Lorde as an example and use the one who influenced her, as well as Billie Eilish, Zella Day, Weyes Blood, etc.

The only one that gets cited as a influence more than Future these days is Gucci.
