I've lived in America my whole life and I'm one of the least nationalistic people I know, inside the country or outside of it. Most of my friends are highly critical of the administration, our electoral system, capitalism and American exceptionalism.

What you're describing exists in America but it doesn't describe all of us. I'm an educator and encourage my students to be free thinkers who challenge the status quo, express themselves and create the world they want to live in. And yes, our education system is s*** but that's no reason not to try to make it better.

I routinely go back and forth between Canada and the US. Also have been to west and North Africa. You should take your own advice.
