i wonder if inevitable the black and white part at the start of the premiere of this season will be the last we see of gene
or if itll break the formula and maybe go back to black and white, post BB timeline during the finale?
much to ponder
My theory that is obviously wrong is the first 7 episodes will wrap up the current “present” timeline and the final 6 after the break are the “future” into breaking bad, the movie and finally concluding the gene arc and therefore the breaking bad universe
Love BB but never got into this. Gonna try and catch up before the final season

i fully trust these writers but its crazy theyre gonna wrap all these storylines up in just 13 eps tbh

ive been thinking that too!!
and i think it'll be a bold ass choice to have like FULL episodes in black and white
they could transition it into colour but theyve established the depressing, isolated feeling of Genes life... i say f*** it, give us full episode(s) in black and white and lets see how his story ends

I believe

it takes a while to get going but you'll see as it builds why a large portion of people think its even better than breaking bad

Literally any other writing team and I would agree but this team is too legendary to finally slip up after nearly 15 years
I have full faith completely that it will be satisfying

Episodes in black and white would be so fire i would imagine it would go to colour after a major life event, perhaps Kim coming back into his life?

I’m just glad I won’t be able to burn through this season. I’m gonna miss this universe so much. Idk if it’ll ever be topped

I really feel like there’s a large section tv watchers who don’t even realise this universe is still going on.
The mid season finale is probably gonna be insane and hopefully the last half is a huge deal and has a lot of people on board to see this whole thing go out in style

i think ppl know but season 1 of bcs is just super slow compared to breaking bad so it always made sense to me that this should would have a smaller fanbase tbh

If they were to spin off anything else it would definitely have to be the salamancas but idk if we need anything else in the universe however I’ll wait til this show ends and see what happens
“ Season 6 will premiere Monday, April 18, with two episodes airing back-to-back”
So, just some random dangling strings to try and clarify/make sense of, in no particular order:
Lalo is now presumed dead by Gus. In turn, Nacho, Saul, and you would expect Bolsa, Eladio etc will be told the same fabrication at some point.
Some cover story will have to be made by Gus in the meantime as to who did the hit on Lalo.
Eladio and Nacho have hit it off, and Eladio is onboard with the plan for him to run things north of the border while Lalo stays back. Unknown if Eladio knows Nacho had remained back and was around during the hit. If so, he'll have to explain how he survived.
Lalo's body will not be found by anyone looking. (Hint: because he's not dead)
Lalo knows (instinctively) its Gus who's orchestrated the hit.
Lalo in turn should know/assume Saul was lying and was ambushed and Gus saved him.
Lalo knows Nacho was the inside man and knows in turn he's implicated somehow with Gus. He does not know Nacho caused Tio's condition.
Lalo does not know of Bolsa's involvement in organising the ambush. Bolsa does not know that Gus stopped the ambush, nor that Gus ordered the hit.
Gus has paused progress on his superlab while Lalo has been north of the border. Presumably now with Lalo assumed dead he will immediately resume.
Krazy 8 is a DEA informant, but is actually being fed the info direct from Lalo/Nacho.
Krazy 8 will at some point branch off from the Salamanca operation and go solo as a distributor and manufacturer. Whether this is planned by Lalo/Nacho/Tio/Tuco etc is unknown
Coke is still predominantly the majority of the cartel's supply and profit. Meth is presumably controlled by the biker gang types mentioned by Nacho. This will shift.
Hank and Gomie are not yet fully integrated/aware of the extent of the cartel's involvement north of the border in the d*** business.
Saul will at some point move into his office we know from BrBa. He will be a full on shady lawyer, will rehire Francesca, Huell full time, Kuby.
We are currently in 2004, but the BrBa timeline will kick in from about 08 onwards. Our first indicator should be something like Krazy 8 getting killed.
Tuco is in prison for another 11 months or so and then will be out. Presumably will remain south of the border until Krazy 8's killed.
Saul will be out in the desert with Walt and Jesse and mention Nacho and Lalo in around 2009. Post Tuco's death.
Gene plotline should be resolved, be it in cold opens, or in a full on dedicated episode/season finale etc.
That is a ton of ground to cover in 13 episodes. Assuming the series takes us up to the point of Saul in the desert, Which I would assume it has to do. Very intrigued how they plan to plot it out and how the hell this whole Lalo/Gus/Nacho situation doesnt just resolve itself almost instantly timeline-wise at least.
Bumping my list of loose ends. Excited to get back into dissecting the new season with everyone. Enjoyed our post-episode discussions.

breaking bad made y'all wait over 11 months for the final few episodes
