i hope this isnt TOO on the nose with the current political climate
They said it’s not. Read reviews saying it doesn’t point to the obvious trump s***
Always gotta be nachos
you too?!
it's popcorn or nothing.
but maybe that's cuz my theater ain't got nothing good besides the popcorn

Yeah fam I always get nachos, extra cheese, jalapeños
Sometimes I’ll switch up and get cheese fries
Rarely I’ll get popcorn IF I’m sorta full already and just want something light
Just got out, super fun journey. Very intense, certain gun shots & tense moments had the whole room twitching. Some times people even starting chuckling and talking out of shock & having to talk about what just happened
Acting is all dope, immaculately shot and planned etc. just need to think more on its committing to having absolutely 0 to say, 0 take, 0 stance on anything it’s depicting. No diagnosis’s or prescriptions on a single thing that’s happened in the films setting. Completely empty on any commentary. I feel some will say it’s what makes the film great and others will say it’s the reason it’s ultimately an empty nothing movie.
But to me the characters, their journey as a group and their arcs made it a great time regardless. The dynamics between the characters are surprisingly well done. Everything the film is depicting becomes a back drop to that story (and a story about on the ground war photographers in general) and that was the best stuff to me

lol I hate continuously eating for that long if s movie
I haven't seen the film yet but I don't really trust the critics getting upset about a film that "chooses to not take a side" considering they gassed up Blackkklansman, a film that fictionalizes and glamorizes someone that did far more damage to the black panther party than the KKK (most of which that is depicted in the movie didn't even happen IRL) all because it made a very surface level and boring take that the modern KKK is MAGA supporters.
In general, I hate this modern discourse that cinema be required to make a political statement when the most nuanced and interesting films historically haven't looked to make pointed political statements but rather has the audience think about its images and what that conveys to them.

I guess what do y’all want it to say I’m not even trying to be an a****** . Like do we need a movie or any piece of art to tell us humanity is f***ed up? If you really think about it . If 28 days later was dropped today many would say it wasn’t politically clear enough
They said it’s not. Read reviews saying it doesn’t point to the obvious trump s***
But sad part is so many want it to “ it’s an election year it’s irresponsible “ nigga America is a mess either way

Watch it first then let me know maybe you agree with me
like I said I liked the story at the centre regardless and maybe it worked in the films favour, still comprehending it

I viewed it as having 0 stance because that’s usually how photojournalists move. They just capture what’s happening and someone else writes the headlines
When it really comes down to resources you just saw2020 where they had to ask us to buy one thing of toilet paper . Shelves empty freezers full. The clear message to me is that people will do anything to survive. Many hated on Us Peele so I’m not surprised people continue to think movies like it don’t say enough

As someone who was a photo journalist at trump protest , rittemhouse shooting and more . Sometimes I would want to say my peace but no paragraph or any of that summarizes the horror if humanity. No posturing or saying;” this is bad” reslly articulates it
I viewed it as having 0 stance because that’s usually how photojournalists move. They just capture what’s happening and someone else writes the headlines
the feeling I get is the critics complaining about it "having nothing to say" just wish it said "right wingers caused all this"

Yeah that’s what I assumed too, especially with
how it ends for kirstin dunst
but idk I think there was certain points the film really could’ve had detailed a LITTLE bit on how america ended up this way, the inciting events, the different teams. But that would’ve meant, in writing that lore, garland would’ve had to actually stake a bit of a position
Like that little social media thing they dropped of the country and the different factions by state was almost more world building and lore than anything that actual movie goes into. If I didn’t see that idk it would’ve taken anything away besides the war journalist stuff but maybe we aren’t meant to like you said
If you add zombies to this movie no complaints but when humans the monsters people want a partisan message
The message is we are the monsters and journalist are our mirror when we think we are not
I got to go cover cops shooting a Chicago teen 50 times after work. We have a democrat mayor . If this world was black and white red blue cap iron man it would be easier
But sad part is so many want it to “ it’s an election year it’s irresponsible “ nigga America is a mess either way
Right? Like when is the f***in perfect timing for this movie to come out?
So is the b**** also irresponsible for seeing the movie in the first place? She knew what to expect

No one seeing this movie and saying “ I was going to vote now I’m just getting a gun” the journalist saying this is bad are just as dumb as “ the elites are trying to warn us when trump wins “ I want to see this s*** already lol

Well these are the same people that was saying “a vote for Kanye is a vote for trump”
Feels like every new detail that comes out about this film is super disappointing
definitely gonna cause massive debate but I will not support it
