How do you guys get advanced screenings
AMC has Advanced screenings for random big movies 4-6 days ahead of release, anybody can buy tickets. Not every theater does it tho
Y’all deadass like Dredd and all the cheesy glittery effects??
The best action film of that year smh
Tbh I haven’t seen it since it came out, I wonder if it still holds up. I like a lil bit of cheese in my media tho, it’s endearing

Ah I didn’t know that
Dredd is his only bad movie, not Men. Men wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t trash to me.
The best cyberpunk movie that isn’t Blade Runner 2049
It’s a shame that it could’ve gotten its TDK/Dune 2 moment with a sequel.. Imagine a whole Dredd trilogy that fully exposes the rotten cyberpunk underbelly of Mega-City One

Garland joins Neill Blomkamp in the club of formerly-revered sci-fi filmmakers
Ridley Scott started that club btw

Garland's 4/4 though, whereas Blomkamp's 1/4 (or 2 since Gran Turismo was alright imo)
Garland hate is overblown.
I think Civil War will have the action and spectacle on point but I don’t know if he has the writing chops to create sociopolitical aspect compelling.

Blomkamp actually has 5 movies under his belt; Demonic was straight basura though
Even Men was more enjoyable than whatever that was
The sci-fi shorts he did as part of Oats Studios seemed promising, but I feel like if they got made into full-length movies completely under his command (especially in the writing process) then they’d turn out mediocre like the rest of his filmography post-District 9.
Even if Blomkamp fell off HARD, imma need that District 9 sequel
Man’s style of gritty & expressive sci-fi motifs is so alluring to me.
Just came up with this idea: Blomkamp working on Dredd

Feels like a huge tactical error to go from men, with its middling reception, immediately into this sort of grand spectacle real world allegory movie. People are 100%gonna get mad with something about it.

Blomkamp is so good at sci fi he just needs help in the writing department

Well in theory, Men is the “small” pandemic era film so next would def be his big epic

Dredd bad?
Dredd bad?
I’m sorry my KTT fam but yes, I thought it was a horrendous piece of s***
Don’t even get me started on wit oh girl ‘I’m going to go into your mind and do all sorts of weird s***’
