John Goodman could make anyone look like a competent actor by just being in the room with him.

Nah, he's the best part of this film to me. I mean to say that he's acting on a whole different caliber that it rubs off on anyone that shares a scene with him.

I don't get it. Is this the Digger rating curve? what is that supposed to tell us?

    he got letterboxd brain

  • JPEGMAFIA

Eddington was phenomenal and I loved it more on second watch.

I'd say that and Digger both are politically charged movies that are a bit deceptive with what they are actually satirizing. Eddington isn't about MAGA or BLM or any of that, it's about the data center and how social media is being used to divide us and make us angry

Digger makes it very obvious what the message is in the final 5 minutes, moreso than Eddington ever did. I think it's fantastic and it's necessary to experience it in theaters with no spoilers.

Both films feel on the nose but neither are about what they are on the nose about, so I understand why critics are lower on them but I think both will age like wine.

    sounds like diggers legit then

Eddington fan. This film, to me, comes across a lot more smug and self-satisfied. More flaws, and making a less interesting point.

i’m worried this one will be like that the trailer comes off this way hard

His performance in The Big Lebowski definitely tops my list for best performance that didn't get nominated for an Oscar

I haven’t seen Eddington . Parts of it are very on the nose but something that’s been said for a while but people don’t listen

I cant think of a piece of art that makes such a valiant attempt at this given message . I have said it for a while though but I dont think its something that present in art in many ways.

Eddington is so much smarter and better than this movie. I hated this and Eddington is one of my favorite films of the decade

ahhh i’m really scared this movie is gonna be one of those big swings with no idealogical backbone all show no substance

eddington is truly 1 of 1 not just in ari’s filmography (he’s super hit or miss for me) but in 21st century american film. it pulls from a lot of places to make a uniquely sinister portrait of where we are at as a country

something ab digger makes me feel like this is way more of a fun house mirror of current events. nothing wrong with that with a big hammy performance from a guy like cruise i’m sure that does a lot, but just not the kind of movie i think i’ll be pressed to see

i gotta give it a shot tho this next weekend

It's worth seeing. Definitely worth seeing. Try not to get spoiled, I did.

  • The closing credits are pretty effecting, I'll give it that. Haven't felt discomfort like that since like Beau is Afraid.

if you have the brain of a infant

  • Only thing I can sincerely complain about this is the fact that the twist was done way too early. If they revelesded the whole shtick after the plane scene it would’ve been more effective. Still the early reveal doesn’t spoil or f*** up the movie at all.
