Back to discussing the movie was avoiding spoilers a bit but can use tags

Him recreating a billionaire who in the end takes his own life while in real life worrying about his daughter traveling in the dark world feel like I needed a bit more from that side plot. I essentially got rather than fight in the present the fight became laughing at how we got here. Owning Trump by creating art in which he dies cough Snoop Dogg or art that makes fun of him cough South Park. Art that kills a character that looks like him or where he is a bumbling idiot. I feel and have felt simmarily about society. Rather than do collective action in reality its death by sassy tweets,memes but when it comes face to face with oppression its a single file line. Its complacency.

We want to publicly lash figures be them presidents, billionaires or morally reprehensible people over and over again even if we are telling the same story. We are addicted to seeing it even as the world arounds us crumbles. The sound made throughout the movie and in the ending breaks the 4th wall. It says when we go outside are we just complacent until the next act of rebellion in the theater. It posits that if the entire film had no twist and we were just laughing at the construction of the goofy , over the top character what have we accomplished? Are we addicted to that comfort food. A part of the reason critics are so against this is because it criticizes us too. How patriotism and America is used to unite in hate. How Nationalism and hysteria fueled the eras. How even when we are most responsible for the destruction of the world we can blame others and make them the fall guy. When we seek to blow up a problem be it nuclear , bomb or otherwise our tried and true methods it makes more problems while not addressing the central issue. The amount of methane as they said comes from oil use, war bomb use, over consumption. Rather than make any personal attempts we want to live how we are living and not change. This movie is a reflection of that both in the fossil fuels play never going out but also in our addiction to live in that time period over and over again even if its dertimental to society. Without art truly challenging the audience

the trailers of this really are constructed well in hindsight . I havent seen eddington to compare but you do need to see this asap befrore others can spoil it for you
