I appreciate that we both feel the same way about the ongoing genocide that Israel is inflicting on the Palestinian people so I don't really want to argue with you. But I think it's important to highlight that what Israel is trying to do isn't new and has been both successful and challenged before.

I don't think it's minimization to say that the genocide of indigenous people is interrelated to the genocide Palestinian people are experiencing. The genocide of indigenous people continues to this day (look at DAPL/Standing Rock) and I think it's a useful example for understanding how a state can be currently perpetrating a genocide and still be respected as a world leader, similar to how Israel wants itself to be seen on a world stage. The settler genocide of Palestinians has also been occurring for almost 100 years now, it's not slow and it's only due to the desperate, remarkable way that Palestinians fight for life and recognition that they still exist as a people today. Sort of similar to Indigenous People in America today.
