he just wasnt involved in the cover art and video it seems. not his domain, dont think he necessarily doesnt approve just doesnt care really. i mean, erykah is the main artist was prolly someone in her camp so makes sense

he could have just said he has no control and thats it
instead of talking about phones or whatever
not surprised lol
So is Alchemist just straight up brain dead or something ?
not surprised lol
why is he so defensive of AI then
Idc about AI use in music video’s.
Just keep it out of the music itself
“The only art that matters is music. Who cares about the illustrators and animators”
I wouldn't want AI used in conjuction with my music because it's a massive distraction and usually sucks, but idg why people are dogging Alc for a video and cover he didn't make
Like what exactly is he supposed to say about this
Maybe he could have hired an actual animator for his music video, and hire an actual artist for his album cover.
Comes across as self centered and hypocritical to be against Ai in your own art field, but completely dismissive of it being used in other art fields
not surprised lol
Deleted. What he say
I'll never understand artists defending a.i use in their field. Don't you like doing what you do?
Im personally not super against producers using a.i. to create a sample, which they then flip

Was he actively involved in the making of the video? Did he commission it? Was the label behind it? I guess I wouldn't automatically assume the guy who made the beat also had creative control of the video.
But yeah, either way, he could take a more pro-artist stance, for sure.

This is his song and album why wouldnt he be at least a little involved lol
Im actually all for A.I being used in arts but only when its being used as an assistance tool in creative endeavors. Generative a.i for art should be for the most part shun against.
I guess that distinction is what ye, timb, rubin, and Al dont get when they compare a.i to autotune and samplers. They were tools that help the creative process not replace it.
There's a lot of ways a.i can be used as tool to create, stem isolation being the most prominent one at the moment. But theres almost nothing creative about generative a.i in art

I’m against it because it only leads down a dark road

I feel like that can work if you actually engage with the weirdness of having music made by no one but if u dont its just completely pointless and will never beat an actual sample
If you let an AI album artwork ruin a song for you, you might be mentally deficient (respectfully)
Tired of the melodramatic pearl clutching about the hypothetical of an imaginary artist somehow missing out on a $20-$50 commission
Folks acting like Alchemist committed a crime against humanity for using ChatGPT instead of underpaying $10 to a third-world artist to get the same work done
Pleeeeeease think about the environment! Please! AI is ruining the planet and the arts!
SHUT THE F*** UP
