The last point I do agree with. It’s unfortunate multiple creators are using A.I instead of a third party artist because third party artists ask for compensation when a robot doesn’t and people want to be cheap.

But I still stand by my initial point. Them using A.I for promotional use doesn’t hold the same negative weight as it would if they incorporated it into the music itself, which is the main selling point to begin with.

This is one through line I noticed between ye, timbo, Rubin now shamelessly flocking to ai and scoffing at criticism of it.

These are artists who genuinely pushed the boundaries of technology, fused technology with art, musicality and creativity. And so they’re naively just seeing Ai as another new thing. These are old people who in their career trajectories adapted to new technologies and so they think all new technology is the same as the old new technology.

What Kanye was told about autotune, what Rubin was told about drum machines and samplers, probably rings to their ears as the same things they’re being told about ai. It’s these digital boundary pushers that are being duped the hardest. They got pushback about technology already, to them it’s just the same thing.

I bet it’s the same in other mediums too. I can see guys who are old now but in their prime pushed boundaries with digital cameras, digital editing, digital painting/graphics also falling down the mental trap
