Do you really think the reason alchemist or erykah went ai single cover because no one could compare to it? That they couldn’t find anyone who could make a better cover?

And do you really think they went with that video because they just truly couldn’t find a music video treatment that was as good as the terribly ai animated moving generations?

These people go with ai because it’s 100% cheaper and 100% quicker than commissioning an artist. No one lost commission because their stuff was ‘so ass’ that it couldn’t compare, they lost commission because they didn’t even go to an artist to begin with.

I do think a musician chose to use a new modern tool to create visual art that was supplementary to the main product

Producers used to have to pay to play musicians to play instruments. They also ended up going a cheaper route. And not because there didn't exist horn players that compared to synths

Lots of artists these days just go with "visualizers" and no one whines about them making lazy videos

Anyway real craftsmen like Alchemist and Timbaland aren't worried about the criticisms of artistic integrity from consumers without a creative bone in their bodies

They not worried about it because they're already established names. They aren't the ones going to be replaced. The ones that already broke through are going to use it to keep the ones who havnt broke through out. And the visualizer looked like s*** that's the only reason people figured out it was AI lmao

It's not about this one single instance of AI. No's likely without AI there isn't any visualizer. It's about major artists embracing generative AI and normalizing it. Today it's a harmless visualizer, tomorrow it's the entire production of a song, the next day it's all the vocals.

A s***ty visualizer doesn't say anything about anybody's portfolio, but somebody could have gotten a good look with a dope video. A KTT user did the new Clipse video and it's incredible. Imagine if they went with some dog s*** AI visualizer instead.

Artists are going to use generative AI. It's inevitable. I'm just no longer going to support those who do
