With love is a good poster fr
"just because people are able to tap into a bigger audience doesn't make them better or more quality in my opinion"
except that's exactly what makes you better.
If you can't find a way to make your s*** digestible for the average nigga to like, that IS a knock whether you like it or not.
I loved that wave of NY Def Jux underground hyper-technical nerd rap by goons in the mid 2000s but Mr. Lif and Vast Aire bars aint going viral my g.
I think some of the greatest artist oat are the ones who made s*** their way their whole career and they drop that one classic that touches the mainstream and their main fanbase without changing a thing. When an artist can do that, regardless of genre, that’s how they know they make great music regardless of restrictions.
J.Cole is just a great rapper,Kendrick is a great artist just cause he was able to tap in too every type of person at least one time with great music.
@Piano_Mane
says the nigga who's avi dates niggas that put black kings into prisons my g.
If the people die hard love the album then it's a classic imo. Itll always be remembered and stand the test of time. Great critic reviews, influence & marketing dont define a classic although a classic album can have all those.
I mean it kinda is if you was getting p**** in highschool lmao but coming from a 26 year old it’s a little cringe, how y’all ignoring the rest of the album tho?
I was getting p**** in HS and that song still big trash
I don't think it's a knock personally because I don't think every great song has to be something that a majority of people like or even have to understand to be great. Artwork is sometimes complex and hard to understand, and sometimes that's what makes certain art great
I mean that's the reason why there are cult classics but if we're injecting numbers and impact into this criteria than I suppose that album is a classic because it was definitely Cole's biggest moment.
I guess I just have a more elitist type perspective tbh, I don't personally think everyones opinion holds the same weight
Yeah but that complex art s*** gets blown out of the water by the Mona Lisa and Starry Night on nothing more than popularity
Yeah but that complex art s*** gets blown out of the water by the Mona Lisa and Starry Night on nothing more than popularity
that part my g.
Changed rap but a forced classic lmaoo
"changed rap"
"forced classic"
do you look back and see what you be posting sometimes my g?
Like people are just naming any album they find overrated that a lot of people like
