The way he kept talking about the album in the interview is atypical for him, he seems more confident than ever
Also said he felt that a track he sent them beforehand was some of his best writing and even how he looked when he mentioned that the Flog Gnaw kids might switch up and want him back next year.. He seemed to just be making an example but at the same time, his facial expression and tone/delivery when he says it I think may be hinting at something wild. Maybe our boy really going full experimental on the next one
Agree with everything you said.
With him touching on the new decade, it sounded like he wants to push the boundaries. Something experimental would not be out of the question
This next album is gonna be concise thank god.
Spending weeks at a time on tracks too
We got the album of the decade on our hands in the first year. The ideas I lined out on an earlier page might actually come to fruition.

What you said sounds pretty on point.
Stemming from a discussion in another thread I gave this some thought.
Boi1da/OZ and associated producers - 5 songs
as the rap cpre of the album, sample heavy. And then have 40 add to the beats here and there to tie them in with the rest of the album and help with the blend of rap and melody.
Jordan/party/85 1-2 songs each pop/pop rap and rnb with the odd rap verse thrown in
Have murda cook up a beat like nfw thats out of his comfort zone
Need 1 heavy piano track produced by 40 and dave that has drake and dave trading bars with some vocal samples added in
40/vinylz on a no guidance type of beat with a beat switch
Maybe one classic 40 beat and also tie sampha in with the production on a few joints
And then 1-2 producers he hasnt worked that bring new flows out of drake
Bring it down to 13-15 tracks. Drop an am/pm and a club banger produced by the likes of tay keith as promotion with both songs not making the album. Release the 85 or the jordan pop rap record as the sole single.
40 should mainly focus on adding to the tracks to create an overall cohesive soundscape with the odd outro/transition and synth in there and customize the beats here and there to bring out that prime drake again. Just work his genius
In terms of features keep it to a minimal.
Party (track like since way back), Dave (trading bars), Sampha
1 female artist on the hook in the mould of from time.
Party, Maj, Daniel, Ty$ on background vocals duty
Personally wouldn't mind another jay feature.
Also bring the mixing back to the nwts level especially in terms of the vocals and keep the tuning on the vocals more lowkey.
tl;dr - "got way too big of views, back to the basics I won't lose"
Let's see how much of this he'll stick with come the next project.
As I've not seen it mentioned. OZ been to Toronto frequently and has currently been there for a good 1-2 weeks. They definitely locked in rn.

You right about that mixing.
Need that NWTS VIEWS mixing back.
I'm ready to have the best year of my life with this album as the soundtrack.
NWTS energy

Amen bro π€π½ the sun is feeling different going into 2020... i feel it
Although he said he wonβt make it super concise like NWTS I feel weβre still getting his most well-put together project since IYRTITL. I just hope he keeps the features to a minimum and focuses on his bars more.

Helllll yeah, preach!
