Actually the Drake coming up said “Diss me and you’ll never hear a reply for it.” We’re lucky we got what we got.

All this “real rapper” rhetoric is bull s***. I understand hip-hop began in the streets and the art of the battle is one of the corner stones of the culture which is cool but at the same time I feel like that s*** is toxic. Another reason to put black men against each other/be aggressive toward one another rather than work and prosper together.

I fw the fact that the Drake/Kendrick/Cole generation started moving away from that stuff. What happened to the days when black men could be talented musicians without being expected to fight to career death? Imagine Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder “beefing” lol. S*** petty asf fr. I enjoy a good diss track as much as the next person when it comes along but that don’t make him no “true rapper”

We over 10 years in this mans career and Drake is established as one of the most successful, impactful, and talented hip-hop/rnb/pop artists in black music history and people still expecting Drake to be something he is not. Drake is not a street nigga. We know this. Neither are 99.9% of music listeners including myself. That doesn’t mean he is not a cool/real nigga and it certainly has nothing to do with his talent. He’s also not scared of these so called “street niggas”. He’s proven that. He’s not about to be out here beating his chest trying to prove himself to toxic street niggas and be all hyper aggressive for no reason. That would make him look like a herb tbh. Niggas tried it, he clapped back with heat each time, then kept it moving. What more do niggas want?

Who said Drake had to be a street nigga? All that s*** you talking about shouldn't matter. That's all just excuses y'all giving. This ain't about proving s*** to "toxic street niggas". It's just standard hip hop. It's a competition. How are people expecting Drake to be something he is isn't? It's literary the opposite. Drake is a competitor. He's shown that time and time again. He is also shown he is a very calculated person so anybody should be disappointed if he lets a beef disrupt his album and he runs away from a beef. But y'all keep making excuses for him though that's cool.
