I think not a lot of ppl talk about it cause Ross’s second verse kinda drags lol. But I think if Drake woulda kept it someone like 40 woulda flipped the second half or had some type of beat switch.

I don't know what exactly. I think just added instruments and sounds that make it a little less basic and more elaborate. A lot of beats Drake been rapping on and heck even singing on have been more minimalistic than what he used to record to imo.

I mean Drake's voice used to shine perfectly throughout even the most extravagant beats. He rides the beat so well that it just becomes like a very well done soundtrack / theme music to a movie scene. Which is what a beat is suppose to be now that I think about it but most people get carried by theirs.

It's not like I dislike Gold Roses beat btw I actually think it's one of the better ones he's rapped on in the past 3 years but it's still missing that extra seasoning that I really enjoyed from beats he's rapped on in the past.

You right about Rick Ross though... Idk why that nigga felt the need to do a second verse. It just made the song drag on. But then again, like I said, if the beat was more interesting and ornamented maybe it wouldn't feel like it was dragging on, you know?

I get you. The thing some people are disregarding is that he released a curated video indicating the month. It wasn't just a random post or story, the only thing missing was the exact date which will have to be given sometime soon or just a surprise "CERTIFIED LOVER BOY AVAILABLE NOW" etc.

Well, in the videos caption it is "Certified Lover Boy" and at the end it is "CLB" so it has to be the title.
