I love CLB but man I just rewatched the album trailer for it….the vibes in that were unparalleled. Truly thought it was going to be some next level magnum opus.
Probably was during that time . But album dropped 9 months later
I knew the song was going to be heat after starting the video. The ambient blue lighting, snow, and fire make this a instant classic.

They got everything spot on for this video, man. I felt the same way when it first started rolling

It’s the most perplexing thing. Looking back at everything makes where we are now so much more confusing. Hearing the score in the album trailer and then those gorgeous synths & ambience during the launch of Sound 42, followed by the Scary Hours pack. Then, total cryptic silence, it felt like he was really crafting something totally different than what we got.
I’m not complaining because I enjoy Certified but prior to seeing that dreadful cover, it was looking like we were about to get the most artistic Drizzy project in almost a decade.

I think whatever was planned for the initial drop must’ve been vastly differently sonically. TSU, Love All, LNCL, lie to me (maybe?), and sonically along the lines of Pain 1993ish .. that’s just my take.
So whatever contributed to the delay, whether that was the operation/COVID and leaks, he most likely decided to redo a majority of the album and then said just put it out.
Maybe he has other projects he may have stashed he may want to drop soon too instead of pushing this longer than he should.
