He was talking about how well you hold streams not how many you get overall. If someone sells 10K fw and sells 5K 4th week, that show high listener retention. Even though the #'s are low.
What he said is good way to check replay value.
I know... and I was just saying replay value isn't the only way to determine if an is better than another which was his argument. He thinks just because it has less streams or if the streams dropped significantly that people don't f*** with the album like that which isn't necessarily true. It just might not be that type of album to play all the time. Doesn't mean anything about the quality.
If an album is good to played in the gym or in a car on the way to work or the club then it's probably going to get more streams over time than an album that super complex or maybe extremely sad. Not to mention all the other factors that go into it.
The fact this nigga leaked his release date on sportscenter at 7 in the morning still leaves a question mark over my head lol
Why are yall ding dongs in here comparing Drake and Tyler lol
It’s embarrassing. I like Tyler but there’s levels.
What's that old song of his where he says, "By the way, that's' me singing".
I'm such an idiot today that I can't remember the name and I searched everywhere with those lyrics and for some dumb reasons I still don't find it and Google indexes me other songs.
LE: Found it. It's, "I'm Still Fly".
Look at all the cap. You’re talking about call me if you get lost in real life everyday for sure🤣 🙄
For a major recording artist with a major push the drop in listens definitely indicate a true pattern of how people are consuming the music. Exposes a lot of cap
I don’t hold everybody by that standard because half my favourites albums don’t sell well. That’s not the point. But trust me you won’t see me constantly posting about music I don’t rate highly
Tyler has way more fans than Doja and can’t even hold streams like her. He can’t hold streams like NBA young boy .
Because … the music doesn’t have genuine replay value.
Nobody talks about that album
Probably the most forgettable major album of the year. It literally tanked off the charts
Been thinking about this for awhile but after revisiting some albums and just reminiscing I feel like I’ve discovered my true thoughts on this album.
Based on the amount of time spent (assuming) crafting this album over three years and the excitement it had for it to come out I think I was expecting something else than what we got. I think the music is good, really good actually. I just listen to his other albums like TC and NWTS and there’s just a level of life to those albums that I feel like this album lacks. I almost feel as if he labeled this as a mixtape if the reception of it would’ve been totally different. I know the “you want my old s*** buy my old album” argument but it’s hard to not compare albums within a discography.
I think part of the reason may just be he has nothing left the prove. I think another is he just likes to make music stand on its own merit. Both within his right. I just feel like the combination of my feelings above and the lack of post album content have pretty much solidified my stance on it. I’m always open to changing my views but right now this is where I’m at with it.
I know y’all probably don’t care but I had to put my thoughts down somewhere

Pre and post album rollout has been very perplexing and kind of ties in to my post lol

the more time goes on the more I think the tour talk was cap
We can’t NOT be getting a tour? Probably not a “CLB” specific tour but surely a tour?
And somehow it's not a single smh

The way Drake has been moving this era, nothing is out of the question.
