This is going to sound strange,

But this album reminds me of Astroworld a lot (not sonically of course)

This project reminds me of Astroworld in the sense that it is peak pop/rap - CLB is for sure the best executed pop/rap album since Astroworld

Although it is a playlist masquerading as an album, there remains an underlying theme throughout that prevents it from ever feeling totally disconnected, and ties it all together enough that you don't lose its overarching concept

It reminds me of Astroworld in the sense that it is the first pop/rap album since then with a star-studded feature list, lots of beat-switches, rich cinematic production and a hefty runtime, and most importantly, is thoroughly enjoyable

All these factors result in a very smooth, streamlined listening experience, yet at the same time, you can basically jump in anywhere on the album and get a great track that you can enjoy in isolation

On one hand, Drake's tendency to try to cover too much ground, has led to his projects feeling a bit disconnected & less cohesive post-2016. But the counterpoint to this, is that an album like CLB, has a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy

Cudi cadence is crazy

I still can't believe it's only now that we are getting a Drake x Cudi record. I really hope they collab more because IMY2 is great and proof that they got good chemistry. Shiiiet I really want a collab album from them mayve even more than I'd want a Ross or Wayne one.
