thegreatdivineI know. People can say album covers don't matter but they do. The covers for SFG, TC & NWTS are all iconic. Hell, even the cover for Comeback Season is. You can have them on vinyl placed in your house and people will immediately recognize them. The covers for Views and Scorpion are less iconic but at least they don't look horrible.
I don't know what changed. He clearly had a different vision for the album and it's visuals just based on that trailer but it's like now he's just rushing to put the album out and going with whatever.
Of course we'll still bump the music and that's what really matters but it's just disappointing to see that he pretty much phoned in the album cover when he really didn't have to. Especially for an album that he's spoken so highly about. I don't know.
2 years from now, we'll look at that cover and we'll all cringe.

mythstar7Idt hes "rushing" to put the album out at all though. The cover was definitely his choice that he's been sitting on for awhile. And honestly I still don't think it'll end up being the real cover.
In rushing, I mean with it being less than a week between him announcing the album's date and dropping it. For all his albums, there's been a longer gap.

I used to be a freelance graphic designer for album artwork a year ago on Instagram and man..the amount of talent some of these IG artists with less than like 10K followers have is insane. People regularly spend hours making fan edits and fanart of Drake albums and did for CLB. He could've approached any of them for the cover and it would've looked amazing. So this being the cover is a slap in the face.

Just hurts that with all the money in the world and such a large influence on pop culture, he does stuff like this. I won't believe thats the cover until im listening to the album on thursday night because I swear he has to be trolling.

My hope is that he actually likes the cover and the artists work, but is also using it to defer expectations so he can shock us with how good the music is

It’s free merch so whatever but the centred nike swoosh on shirts getting a little played out. Should just put it to the side . The rose over swoosh is cool

the covers are not iconic because they're good tho
they are iconic IN SPITE of being silly or uninspiring
the only reason you hang and show off the covers of the vinyl is because the album itself is iconic tbh
