I agree with everything except your last couple sentences. He’s definitely worried about someone taking streams away from his album, not that someone will outsell him. He’s not scared of anyone either.

Literally he only cares about streams. If someone else drops the same time as him then that’s less streams people are listening to JUST HIS album and those streams are going to people checking out another artist.

He wants it to be him and only him when he drops so nobody else takes some of the spotlight, which is understandable, I’d do the same. I’d want my time to shine when I’m dropping my album. He’s obsessed with streaming numbers, lately it’s been more about that than the actual music.

Ideally if you’re Travis, Abel, or Drake you’d want your album out before football gets too far into their season. Football weekends are great for streaming new albums at tailgates and such.
