To be honest, I don't think it would have mattered if he dropped summer 2020 or summer 2021. Both summers are f***ed. People were indoors for summer 2020 and this summer hasn't exactly been crazy. The energy from last year is still in the air and now there's this Delta variant. New music is dropping every week but very few are sticking. In that regard, I'm kinda glad he hasn't dropped the album yet.
