Damn you actually saying Views peak Drake. Nah jk I mess with Views though
I don’t think we’ve seen drakes peak yet. If I’m being honest.
The NOCTA shoes nowhere near as ugly as niggas claiming lol.
Where thy at?

He never making songs like nwts again so we did imo
His rapping still great but the way he structured SONGS in 2013 was incredible
that's NOT DRAKE what the f*** are you even a fan? you want the biggest hit maker not to make hits!
Not everything Drake makes is a reach for a hit. Drake does everything he likes. Just some of the stuff people want Drake to do he doesn't find that appealing

At the end of the day.. this stuff is just opinion based. So I certainly respect your opinion and get your point 👌🏻

I’m partly making assumptions based on the leaks we’ve heard.. that lotta 42/need me leak was crazy as far as sequencing and structure went. If that vibe is any inclination of the type of album cuts we will be getting we are in for something special.

Need Me and Vital still show he got it for sure

I have to agree with him;
NWTS, musically, took chances and risks that felt like it moved the sound forward. And the beat switches really belong to him because he introduced them in take care then really took it up a level on NWTS.
The bars have never really faltered with exception to the beginning of his career (which I still think he was spitting, but people think otherwise).
I’m not worried about the bars, infact the only thing I’m worried about is him NOT taking risks and trying to move the sound forward, as uncomfortable as it may be. The instrument arrangements etc. However from what it feels and sounded like originally, I see CLB being the closest thing to NWTS that we will ever hear.
If he really wants to lock everyone into this rollout and get his day 1s hyped, dropping a time-stamp record (AM/PM in ____) right about now would alert the world that it’s drizzy time.
Trab took drake entire nwts song-structure style and ran with it on Astro

I noticed the sound in Birds too and Harlows debut album def was outlined like drizzys

Right but my counter to that would be look at more life and views. He introduced completely different sounds that strayed away from what a traditional drake song sounded like and featured artists that are staples in their respective genres. Those are huge risks that not many artists of his stature would take. And both were a massive success.
Maybe the production needs to be diversified, but I really have a hard time thinking that he hasn’t taken risks.
Yeah we down bad…
I kinda like where the thread is at rn. It’s getting me hype for the album!

the beat switches are next level. iyrtitl had a fair amount too. Since then it feels like they've been few and far or missing something

You’re right honestly, I think it’s preference and also the fact that Views felt like it was made with anger and a little uninspiring. Still a classic album with some great risks (one dance, controlla)
The other thing that I mentioned in another thread (which may seem trivial to some people) is Views album cover. It was dark, grey, and when I see it, I think of the time where Drake was acting out of character (think Vince in entourage season 7 haha)
Scorpion had the same thing, few songs which defined the time, some risks here and there but underwhelming inspiration-wise and felt like the focus was elsewhere (on a beef)
I guess there are just intangible characteristics to the flow of the album, vibe, cohesiveness and quite frankly the time and place in your life in which you first listened to it - which differentiates the preferences

If you recall scorpion had that very ominous album trailer that really did not match the vibe of the album either (maybe some songs on side A, but certainly not side B) so I get your point there.
Scorpion, like views, was made out of anger so they are similar in some ways. I still look at views as his best project to date.. keep the family close was a incredible intro that really set the tone of the album for me. It was completely unexpected and different which drew my attention.

The way views flowed too was amazing, the seasons changing.
You could feel it in the music.
