I pretty much checked out until I see something concrete. As soon as I do tho I know all of that hype is going to come right back so it’s whatever.

I just hope it’s worth the wait at this point. I don’t even think it’s possible for ANY album to live up to these kind of expectations tho. We been waiting on this since 2019. His last official project was 2018 and is widely regarded as one of his weakest albums. The last Drake project that was universally recognized as great was IYRTITL in 2015. Its 2021. Like even if CLB is one of his better albums it’s STILL going to be seen as a let down if it’s not an absolute masterpiece. He’s leaving himself a very narrow margin for error here moving this way. Putting a lot of pressure on himself and his team to deliver something great. I just hope he knows what he’s doing.

He has dropped various dates. Summer 2020, then January 2021, then Summer 2021.

He even had a commercial/teaser ready for January 2021. It is now August. He is not the type to just announce a whole ass date with teasers but not have the music anywhere near finished. That doesn’t even sound right.

He had commercials/teasers, a lead single (LNCL), A WHOLE ALBUM MERCH DROP, and more lined up. The music was definitely basically finished. Absolutely nobody would have all that ready with the music nowhere near done.

The hold up isn’t the music, but an issue/obligation. Whether it be personal, legal, or something else who knows. Maybe he will talk about it on the album.

He literally wrote it and posted it on his IG that it was coming Summer 2020. How is that not an announcement? If he makes a post and captions a new song is dropping tomorrow is that not an announcement?

I’m also not sure how you think it logically makes sense he had merch & a whole ass teaser ready but the album still needed a year to complete

The issue isn’t lack of music in general, it’s the constant false claims about the music dropping and then absolutely no explanation for months after.

It moreso just effects the hype for the era. I’m sure the music will be fine but the whole lead up is kinda ruined.
