This actually f***ing sounds good. Man I swear... I really do think it's the beats Drake be rapping on for the most past that have been holding him back the past couple of years. Imagine if most of his verses from the past couple of years were on beats that were a little more... I don't even know the right word...extravagant?
Like I f*** with trap beats and especially s*** like Tay Keith but beats really do make a difference between a song being a classic and a song being just cool for the year/era it was released. Like imagine 99 Problems being rapped on some ordinary ass beat. Would still be a good song but would it be a classic? Would T.R.O.Y.? Nuthing but a G Thang? Would Mind Playing Tricks on Me? NY State of Mind?
Drake definitely need to be rapping on more iconic/flashy beats that compliments his versatility. Nigga used to rap on beats like Lord Knows, 0 to 100 / The Catch Up, Under Ground Kingz, Look What You've Done, Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music II... nigga leave OZ and Cardo alone
