I'd argue he's made two missteps so far with this album's rollout. The first was announcing that his next album would be dropping summer of 2020 in the same IG post of him announcing DLDT. I get he most likely did that out of excitement but that is what started up the machine of anticipation and he could have saved an announcement like that for much later. The second was him posting that CLB trailer which basically said the album would be out by January. Again, there was really no reason to do that because that's another time period he failed to meet up with. Dropping all the CLB merch and stuff was also a huge misstep imo. People have had their merch since last year but still don't have the album yet.

Since then, he's been smart about giving out dates. When he posted on his IG about CLB no longer dropping in January, he made a point not to give another date/time frame. His exact words were "I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021." When he dropped Scary Hours 2 and went on OVO Sound Radio, he also made it a point to say it was separate from CLB and he didn't give a timeframe on CLB dropping. Just said he's working on it and it's on the way.

I really don't see him dropping a release date till he's 100% sure the album is finished so as not to disappoint fans yet again if there's even a possibility of him not meeting up to it.
