honestly the vibe I got from the recent Nadeska/Ebro interview is that he really didn't want to perform too many tracks just for nostalgia's sake. I love GKMC as much as anyone, but he's put out so much music since then, I understand why he wants to prioritize the new stuff.
I wanted it to be authentic to him currently

NoirAs a Kendrick stan, I thought it was fine. The setlist didn’t have my favorite tracks but GNX isn’t my favorite album. This is where he’s at in his career and he did a solid job illustrating his current creative space on a massive stage. The SZA tracks were great, the Uncle Sam TPAB callbacks were fun, it was just good overall, nothing amazing.
In general, I don’t think hyper-sanitized television performance raps come off very well, but Kendrick has been incredible on television before (2016 Grammys, Untitled 3 on Colbert, i on SNL) but this was a mid tier performance from Kendrick IMO.
Oh my days i listened to that untitled 3 performance all winter 2014 and was so sad it wasn’t on tpab
