Kendrick is widely considered to be the winner of their battle because NLU is everywhere. It's a catchy banger that everyone can and will sing along to, scathing insults included. You may believe that Kendrick rapped better than Drake (Family Matters / THP6) on NLU, but that is not the criterion that the masses are using to have declared Kendrick the winner

    Kendrick is declared to have won because he controlled the moment and released an insulting banger, the same way Drake controlled the moment and released an insulting banger against Meek Mill with B2B. In that case Drake out-rapped Meek, but it really wasn't the point. Pusha won over Drake because he controlled the moment and revealed that Drake had a kid, not because he rapped better. Again, you could argue either way (I personally think the bars on Duppy Freestyle >>>> bars on Story of Adidon) but it really doesn't matter

    Kendrick beat Drake by every metric. He controlled the narrative. He out rapped him. He has a global hit. He didn’t spend half the beef posting saucy IG stories.

    Drake fans will say “Drake outrapped Kendrick on FM” but not be able to point out a single bar justifying this.
