If anything House of Balloons was close in terms of quality and impact but these bubble gum radio songs ain't touching anything on MBDTF
Ehh could’ve been region based but I def remember hearing those three
Out of albums that era, BP3 and Recovery are closer comparisons to After Hours as far as impact
Views
Life Of Pablo
Blonde
DAMN.
Astroworld
After Hours
WLR
all MBDTF tier albums over the past half decade
Look at what your doing.
After Hours is nowhere near MBDTF
I’m not comparing the albums in terms of quality. Please read what I wrote.

So you disagree with the cultural significance had on people and the industry in general?
I’ve tried listening to this album multiple times and although I don’t think it’s bad I honestly feel like the weakest part about the era is the actual music excluding the monumental singles. I can’t get into it like other projects of his even if they may have had lower lows. This could be just me so I’m cool with the flack. I think everything else that is a part of this era is phenomenal though and I’ll always commend him for dropping when everyone else was too afraid to

bro this album didnt push anything forward, its just a blockbuster critically aclaimed pop album. f***ing Katy Perry also have one

Blinding Lights is so far from being “the biggest song ever” like the charts say
S*** is the number one reference for why charts ain’t everything when it come to how big a song got
After Hours is a classic but more so for its singles and global impact more than being a truly groundbreaking or flawless album.
MBDTF was groundbreaking and a 10/10 album but not incredibly impactful(especially worldwide) whereas the opposite is true of After Hours which makes this kind of a weird comparison.
AH still deserves props for really turning Abel into a global superstar though. He's getting spins in all corners of the Earth rn.

Lmaoo this is such an unfair takeaway from the album. It’s barely pop outside of the singles.
I like after hours, and probably listened to it almost as much as MBDTF. But no way. Can’t really compare them due difference in legacy and the context behind the two albums.
