Why disappear for more than half a decade and then come back with the exact same formula? The full album could have some experimentation of her sound on it, but as far as the lead single goes, it’s boring to hear the same old Adele formula we’ve already heard hundreds of times from her

What did you want ? What producer y’all want her to work with ? She just had Bantu knots don’t really want to risk culture vulture claims so it’s difficult

I’m not saying I wanted to hear dancehall Adele or hear her sing over drill drums like everyone says, that’s ridiculous, but at least try to build upon her sound and experiment within the bounds that she operates. People too often think that “experimenting” means an artist doing a complete 180, but sometimes it just means progressing upon the sound that the artist already has.

Think DBR -> Rodeo or College Dropout -> Late Registration.

If this lead single is the only song on the album that’s just a straight up piano ballad, then that’s fine, but if she gives us a whole entire album of this again, after 6 years of silence, then I fear that she’s gonna get somewhat of a mixed/negative reception on the project.
