So you view Kendrick's white fan base (and Drake's half white heritage) as a negative thing?

I'm not illiterate. But you seem really agitated about this lol.

How does another man's opinion make you mad?

I see most white fanbases within hip hop/black music in general as the byproduct of a society where majority is still white + minorities getting priced out of shows and concerts due to the expensive tickets.

So yeah. Especially when they view it type a la animal in a cage (shoutout to vince staples senorita video)

This a case of wrong messenger, correct message.

The thing I wonder tho, is why are people who would take issue with this so offended? Is having a large base of 30+ white fans (like Peter Rosenberg) a problem?

Both Drake and Dot have white fans. I think they just have them for very different reasons.

You’re right they have different segments of white hip hop fans with some overlap.

Kendrick inherited a lot of the “Danny Brown, Eminem, Hopsin, Logic, tech n9ne, death grips are the greatest rappers ever” type white people.

But his hits got him some casual yt fans to that would be more fans of Drake

It's amazing to me how one second "black isn't a monolith" and the very next, we're "emulating what we think black is."

    Which one is it?

It seems to me like a lot of white people listen to Kendrick for the same reason. He represents an amalgamation of trauma p*** and pseudo intellectualism about blackness that they have historically always enjoyed

If that's how you see it. Ok.

    I love Vince. He's great.

How can you emulate something that is not a monolith? To emulate, there must be characteristics that are distinct.

IF there a no distinct characteristics of the experience, there is nothing to emulate.

I’m not even gonna argue with you, bigging up Adam22 and acting like a faux intellectual in regards to Kendrick’s music just because you “dislike” him because of some stan s***

I'm not bigging up Adam22. I am looking beyond the vessel in this case.

I actually dont dislike him, regardless of the amount of s***posting I do on this site.

I just find that people really like obfuscating the intention of the conversation once I get to this part about Kendrick Lamar.

You are free to view it how you see fit Willie.

Stereotypes exist, that person thinks people like you and others they described try emulating what you think blackness is, it’s really not a difficult statement to grasp if you aren’t being purposefully obtuse

There are multiple black culture. National and regional. Drake has worn many of them almost like a costume.

I'm not being obtuse. I'm being logical. Nor am I denying the existence of stereotypes.

I do understand what you're trying to say. But by the context of your own logic, that shouldn't be a possible outcome. Unless you do think there are behaviors that define blackness.

Which I think is a widely held belief that we are currently denying rn.
