Anxiety inducing. But I’m only 10 minutes in
I liked this. Yes it felt like a long snl sketch, but it was ambitious. A little too “in your face” with the sociopolitical commentary and could’ve benefitted from being a bit funnier, but I was entertained and got the point that McKay was tryna drive across
Loved the movie and gonna watch again later on.
The freeze frame scenes at the end were bone chilling man
When they hauled ass when reality set in that the mission was failing was f***ing hilarious
Reading critic reactions to the movie almost feel like I’m still watching the movie in a way lol
Like some journalist going “yeah ok I see what you were trying to do but I don’t think you really conveyed the end of mankind in a way that was artistic enough for me to care
“
Like it feels as if I’m just watching another scene play out live
The overall point was beaten over the head and ultimately it bummed me out in its relentlessness but I can’t fault the movie for it either. Sometimes it’s justifiable and I don’t think there’s really a true right or wrong way to convey these concepts
I liked it
Just longer then it needed to be and a lil too on the nose
Yeah exactly it's rly rly blunt but I don't think it's a bad thing as a satire. Got some valid social criticism for sure
Also for a film with this big a cast appreciate how lowkey experimental it is with the editing
Watched this last night after The Matrix Resurrections and found it very enjoyable. Jonah Hill and Ron Perlman's scenes had me dying.
The middle section was a slog for sure... definitely could've been a 90 minute movie and still gotten its point across. Some editing decisions were weird af too.
Overall I think they represented our present moment pretty accurately. The pessimistic ending had me shook too, I didn't expect the comet to actually hit and destroy the Earth.
I don't know if it'll be the wake-up call for people that Adam McKay was aiming for, but I think it's a film we'll look back on more fondly as climate change continues to be an unavoidable reality this decade.
I liked it but for some reason it felt a bit flat
with that dream team type of cast I was expecting a bit more
good movie though
This was… cool but I expected better.
I didn’t really find it that funny tbh but I was hooked to the plot.
The ending is anxiety inducing though lol
