Illmatic is the Hip Hop Bible
Act 2 is a genre bending piece of art

    Both use elite poetic language

    Bro what

  • Oct 8, 2020

I don't even think Griselda know about Jay E's existence

Roc Marciano easily paved the way for them

Jay stans out of their rockers

This was made well before Tyler worked on original Bound with Kanye.

Couldn't tell cause it was out of nowhere but you're 100% right from production techniques, to who he's put on, and who he's worked with.

I don't think a lot would have been 21s biggest song without the cole verse for example. I still hear that on the radio

I don't Stan Cole at all but I really respect what he's done with his influence. What the f*** has Jay elect done except trick white teens into thinking he's a goat with next to no discography?

He put out an NOI propaganda album that flopped

Fr tho Cole's greatest moments don't even pale next to Jay Elect unless you're a literal pretentious snob

Why did this thread mention Illmatic

Well I can only guess hahaha, that people like to outdo each other’s stupidity.

But if Jay Elect released this album on time and completed, we could have this discussion. But as is, it is a cult classic and a reminder of what could have been.

I agree but not really a fair comparison considering the fact that Jay E has been pretty much silent for his entire career and just put out his first album this year

Lol I like Act 2 and I'm giving him the benefit of doubt cause it's an unfinished leak but this album isn't anywhere near flawless or worth the 10 year hype
A lot of recycled rapping over Alicia Keys piano loops and leftover MF Doom flows all for him to drop 1 verse over 5 minute songs
The best part on the album wasn't even by him (Dinner At Tiffany's)
And we already heard the best songs years ago
