I think this is it, most likely. The colors of the trans flag are pink blue and white, which also happen to be Gwen's color scheme. I think Gwen is sympathetic towards lgbtq people because they have similar stories

Her gender wasn’t addressed at all, but her arc was “coming out” to her dad as a superhero, being rejected, moving away with a bunch of other superheroes, and then confronting her dad (who’s a cop BTW) who finally accepts her and quits. That sounds pretty queer for me. Also the way she and Miles talk about whatever he should “come out” to his parents really reminded me of real conversations

the animation for beyond was done simultaneously with across i think for the most part so they’re probably almost done with that and i’d imagine they already have a script ready, be kinda crazy if they didnt

he’s animated. he isn’t a real cop, someone personally designed him and added that flag onto the uniform and they wanted to make the a***ogy really obvious for kids, and if you wanna go in film maybe they just really support trans rights in that universe

might be a hot take but i think miles’ first half home story of wanting to come out to his parents to spider-man is just a bit boring compared to the second half of his place in the spiderverse and if he can control his fate in time

it just feels a bit been there done that especially since it’s happening twice in the movie with him and gwen with pretty much the same not subtle allegory and idkk maybe i was just impatient and wanted to get to the crazy stuff

I love it personally ... It's not rushed and melodramatic like most films where the love interests are infatuated with each other, for no reason, after just 15 minutes in the movie.

Gwen comes up as someone who has a hard time exteriorizing her feelings properly. I don't expect her to start being overly emotional and sentimental like that; and i think all spider-men have learned with time to put their feelings and ideals to the side in order to serve the greater good. They're just more pragmatic than your average human being.
