Yeah, this final statement from the defense isn’t very strong. He should just pull out a prop and point it at the jury. Once they scatter and duck, he could ask, “Why did you react? It’s just a prop.” Then, he should fire it so they hear the sound.

After that, he could say: “This is exactly why Rocky carries a prop—it has the power to scare and deter attackers. Anyone who sees or hears it assumes it’s real.

Summary of Tacopina's Closing:

1. He starts off focusing on Relli's credibility. "We'd be here through Christmas if we focus on Relli's inconsistencies."

2. Relli, the state's main witness repeatedly perjured himself.

3. The detective said that without Relli's testimony, there is no evidence of the shooting.

4. "Relli is an angry pathological liar". Taco said in his Opening that this case would rise and fall on his credibility.

5. Relli cursed and threw a water bottle out of anger during his testimony. If that's how "he acted here" imagine how he'll act "in the dark of night".

6. Taco thanks the jury for never once being late and tells the jurors they are the conscience of the Los Angeles community including Compton and Inglewood.

8. Taco says what is in dispute. He said there is a self defense and defense of others issue.

9. The people who founded this country were no strangers to controversy. If there was a doubt based on reason, there had to be an acquittal.

17. The prosecution DID NOTHING TO IMPEACH the testimony of 12vyy and Levin. They weren't impeached. They were yelled at, they were berated. But the truth is easy to remember.

18. Relli has a 30 million dollar motivation. If Relli got his 30 million, the state would have no case because he would be somewhere on an island. Relli wants to use law enforcement as a money collector.

19. Relli's actions on 11.6.2021 confirm that Rocky was using a prop gun.

20. Rocky shot two warning shots from the prop gun.

21. The Defense spent so much time questioning Relli's credibility because, without his credible testimony, the prosecution has zero evidence that there was a shooting or that there was an operable gun. They only have Relli's shell casings, Relli's knuckle scrapes, and the two videos.

22. Detective Flores said the gunshot sounds could have come from a replica firearm/non-operable firearm.

23. You have to consider whether Relli was hit by a bullet or not.

24. 7 officers searched the area for 20 minutes for signs of shooting. They found nothing.

25. A prop gun ejects blank cartridges. Taco laid down a challenge to the prosecution to show what a blank cartridge from a prop gun would look like. The state didn't ask any witnesses what a blank cartridge would look like.

26. Relli could have called his girlfriend Ms. Parker to back up his claim but "she was probably busy, doing what she does". Relli didn't want her anywhere near this courtroom.

27. The state didn't show GPS location data from Relli's iphone to show where he was when he took the images. Yet, they got location data from Illz's iphone.

28. They didn't have to produce a single piece of evidence. But they had more substantive witnesses than the prosecution.

29. Relli lied about the most crucial facts in this case. Taco called his testimony a "MINI-SERIES" and a GLORIOUS TRAINWRECK."
