The interview is pretty good. He goes into the Relli situation too and you can tell he's still genuinely f***ed up about the whole thing. What's interesting is that he says he hates that it even had to happen and feels bad that Relli is basically gonna be known as a rat now cause that was one of his closest friends coming up.

Also noted that some dudes in ASAP got weird about him spending more time with Rihanna and doing other stuff outside of music, as they were wondering "Well what's gonna happen with us?"

I can actually understand the perspective of them because Rocky was the face of ASAP, and whenever he had a release it'd be a big thing they'd all get around for and possibly eat off of the touring. Of course, there's also the Cozy Tapes series from the ASAP Mob. Sure they all have their own music going on, but Rocky dragging his ass on all that does leave them in a tough spot with gaining more support for themselves. Just the reality when there's a dude who's bigger than the others in a group.

All that being said, my niggas.....it's Rihanna lmao she's a billionaire with the kinda pull to upgrade your life in so many aspects. As we saw Rocky do as he got more in depth with fashion brands, his own jewelry collection(s), Klarna and Cashapp, and much more.

Could be. From what I remember about early ASAP Mob days, Rocky and Ferg were doing their own thing as rappers, sometimes they'd have tracks with Nast, which Rocky addresses in this clip. Yams knew them and the other dudes who would eventually make up ASAP and he brought them together.

There was a blog where he'd post old hip-hop and fashion magazines, as something of an archivist which got him attention and industry connects, and on that same blog he'd hype up ASAP Mob. From there that's how Rocky and them started to get more attention.

So when it comes to ASAP as a collective getting big, that was Yams. But it seems like Rocky was already doing his thing with music and fashion. Which is probably what he's really meaning to say. Still think there's a bit more that he's not really crediting to Yams though lol but if nobody else in ASAP calls him on that then I guess they understand what he's saying.

I'm sure we'll be hearing from Bari, Relli, or Ian at some point about it. But one has to ask...is what they gotta say really gonna mean much or be taken seriously lol

Eh I'm happy for him. Getting into a fitness thing, doing more of his own fashion stuff that he always wanted to do, and is getting into art and hosting galleries for his paintings.

haven’t seen interview but in 2026 why even bring up yams atp, everyone who knows knows. i don’t even think a new generation of asap fans are checking that deep into the interview. just sounds like he’s venting ab internal politics, i don’t see why he would bring a man who can’t speak for himself into it, even if it’s to say he’s done great things

oh absolutely, I always said Yams was probably the last real A&R we had in hip hop just based off how directionless everyone in the crew kinda became after he died including Rocky.

People still bring up Yams as a way to throw shade at Rocky and discredit what he's done in his career and hate on his new music. Despite him being bigger and more successful than ever, and still putting out good music.
