I watched it at the last showing and I was the only one in that mf

The ambient sounds had my hair standing up

But actually it was a lot better on rewatch, so much more detail to take in like the camera technique and the sound was way more crisp second time around. Haunting is still the word id use to describe it. One scene that particularly stood out was that scene focusing on the flowers while the screams overlayed, as the screen went blood red and the most nightmarish music played. Knowing what you know later on that they used the ashes of the Jewish people in the garden makes that part vile

I thought Anatomy of a Fall was great but Sandra getting an Oscar Nom for that over this is crazy to me, that scene where she's trying on that woman's coat/ putting her lipstick on knowing what's happening to her right over the wall was so simple but unsettling at the same time

It’s one of those movies that people say they never want to see again and that it’s good but in this case it demands a rewatch
