I feel like this is part of what bugged me even with ending speech . Lack of trust in audience . I get why though because even with hand holding the audience some avoided its purpose . I just miss the time where less of that was needed . Because when the characters in a fictional word say that much that often sometimes it breaks immersion for me
movie of the year 2025.

Disagree, lack of trust in the audience is what Sinners did with the flashbacks at the end of the movie. Superman’s speech was reiterating to the main villain and the audience what he stands for.
He’s like the superhero that should be giving speeches and talking about his purpose. That’s what makes the character Superman (which is corny, but that’s just who the character is)

I think both are distrust of the audience to some degree lol . Not Netflix level but to a level that affects immersion and flow of the story . There are often better ways to show then tell tell tell not only in Superman but in every character interaction to the point they don’t feel natural
@KnightmareLeague your goat washed
i wish for the sequel they get a better cinematographer and Gunn completely abandons his habit of shoe-horning songs into every f***ing one of his movies. the song single-handedly ruined the Mr Terrific action scene in Superman

they did get a better cinematographer and the song thing isn't going anywhere. I remember him posting on threads his favorite songs of 2025, but felt the need to say (to some extent) that there's a lot of songs he didn't list because he's using them for MoT or something
also the Terrific scene with that song is perfect ngl. I loved it. I also respect that it's his "thing" as a director, just like many directors have their own style and certain things they include in movies, however I don't think I need it in every movie because it does make the movie feel a little more gimmicky for the lack of a better term
Wish she didn’t know it was him
