Superhero fatigue is partially because they keep doing the same exact beats with the same exact fans eating it up rather than seeking something different. Which is partially the power fantasy. Without any sort of focus on secret identity or normal life which some of you find "boring" when really that is what separates us from just watching a childs dream or playing with action figures and also saves money on effects to humanize the character.

Secret Identies are a HUGE PART OF DC

here's a fun fact i bet you didn't know:

Superman was based off artist Joel Schuster's dad. The story goes that his dad ran a grocery store that Joel helped out in. One night the place was robbed and his dad was shot and killed in front of him.

That night Schuster had a dream that when the bullets hit his dad they just bounced off of him and the next morning he drew the first draft of Superman.

Superman was also specifically made to be an immigrant (Joel Schuster 2nd generation) to show that immigrants could be helpful to society, that's also why Superman specifically dealt with local mobs/robberbarons and more localized crime because these were problems him Jerry Siegel and their friends were encountering in their lives.

I am not necessarily worried about Krypto I just want to see some human beings other than superman a villain or krypto in images and metropolis more than space or a random building

Granted he does smile when he's saving the girl in that very scene but I agree. The highlight isn't the actual saving part it's the larger than life part you mentioned. Shame is we don't even see him doing the rescue.
