i don’t disagree but James Gunn has said that he hates “cameo p***” where characters are introduced or placed in a movie without a reason or purpose in the story. so i’m just leaning on / trusting him to have these characters incorporated in a meaningful fashion that helps cultivate the story he’s trying to make.

he also did mention that Superman is entering a world where superheroes already exist so seeing these characters in this movie might make more sense than I can personally do in my head, but that’s why he’s a successful writer / director and i’m not
