6 page opening sequence between John Corben, Superman, and Lex Luthor: done.
Now to write 10-20 pages about the aftermath and the horrors of what was done to John’s body to keep him alive
Bro casually dropping progress on the story that’ll influence the Superman reboot in 20 years
I know it's kinda popular to abandon characters for a while if it's attached to something bad but maybe not real soon but theologically we need Darkseid for Superman.
Do you say theologically because Superman and Darkseid are Moses and Ramses on a cosmic scale?

Speaking of, I’ve always felt that logically speaking, Superman vs Lex boils down to: a symbol of freedom for humanity against an oppressive and equally powerful symbol of corrupt control. Superman vs Darkseid is this exact dichotomy taken to a universal and abstract level
It’s my first time adapting something and while I know this’ll never be made but I’m actively excited just writing it. Super easy to picture something like this

Shiiiiiiiiiit you never know if one day you might put it out independently and it’s so undeniable that DC is forced to address it

Not necessarily. In one comparison I view superman as a fighter for "free will" and humanity and Darkseid as satan
They say angels don't have free will in a sense and do what God instructs. So when God made us he gave us free will so that we can choose our own destiny, to be human. To have life.
Darkseid is anti free will. Or anti life. It's said the devil can't create, only twist and distort what already is. Giving himself more power and glory. But what I like is though he searches for anti life, he has those who worship him of their own free will

That just makes me want to make this that much better
I’ll write the first draft, review, rewrite and put the second draft out here
when mjp plus becomes head of dc studios fires corensweat and reboots dc again in 5 years

Oh s*** we saying the same thing like a cinnamon

See all this is why I have a special appreciation for the theological questions that Superman uniquely brings about as a superhero. I like that Snyder was on the same wavelength as well, my liking for his take on it aside

Would you complain about his castings too since he’s not Snyder?

Yes! I like what he presented. I know sometimes it's really hit on its head but it's been there since at least Superman the animated series and poses really cool themes and perspectives. You don't even have to fully explain it but that aspect even gives it a bit of mystical mystery
Even the bvs concept art has doomsday as the anti christ with an upside crucifix behind him and a crown of tHorns

bro did all that religous imagery but didn't actually explore the idea of people fully worshipping a church of superman

Ngl when I saw the trailer and superman soldiers with the S like a badge, I thought it was gonna go into political powers worshipping him

they had it all there but just gave up

I think maybe he didn't understand what he had. Like giving a 12 year old a Lamborghini
Would you complain about his castings too since he’s not Snyder?
unless he casts me as batman
The Hollywood Reporter said the film is about Superman debuting in a world where superheroes already exist, and with Gunn and Safran saying Clark is “kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as outdated” makes me think this movie will be about Clark changing the perception of the hero community in the eyes of the public. The Authority, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner’s Lantern, and Mister Terrific heavily imply the heroes that currently exist are all grade A d***heads, so it’s a very interesting plot to pit Superman against them.
