PND2 not at that level
90s R&B Appreciation Thread is a better title but we both know you wanted those replies lol
r&b threads start

party gets s***ted on
2013-2015 he basically gave the genre new life
Or new death
Vastly prefer soul and funk R&B from the 60s-80s. Just hard to top Minnie Ripperton, Prince, Marvin, Stevie, Teddy, Chaka and so many others.
90s R&B cute though I guess even if it is played out beyond belief and people make it their entire personality trait on dating apps.
90s and early 00s R&B
Modern R&B is mostly bland nowadays unfortunately
"Modern R&B is mostly bland nowadays unfortunately"
It's actually been pretty exceptional over the last 5 or so years.

I love a lot of new r&b. Kelela dropped AOTY this year
I dont think ppl understand how much the shortening of song lengths in hip hop making it to R&B hurt the genre. That when it happens currently it’s so few and far between

One of the things that makes this song so f***ing beautiful is the way it breathes at the end.

Like…long outros used to just be regular in R&B. BRING THAT S*** BACK.
The reason niggas love Ari and Sza is because they both provide s*** that modern R&B been missing for a while (ari with criminally catching melodies and great ear for harmonies and amazing vocals and SZA with AMAZING songwriting)
Which makes sense cause modern R&B niggas dont even sing or harmonize no more.
Yep

Her writing and pen is among the best we have in modern r&b landscape today
No way people mention PND
Of course they're Drake stans
I’m not a Drake stan and I mention PND brethren
