For those saying this year was the best since 2016/18, please drop your top 10 cause maybe I’ve missed gems
Did you have a way to bring your library to Spotify? That’s the only thing holding me back from switching
No, but my transition was a slow one
When you make a playlist, once you start adding songs it will give you recommended songs (even letting you play previews before adding), and then once you add one, it pops up with a few more recommendations based on that one
So, when I got my PS5 it had Spotify support but not Apple, so I started to make a growing playlist of music I like to listen to off my Playstation while playing games, and ended up with a ton on there
Eventually last year when the Wrapped's came out, it seems silly but I really hated having my stats split between two platforms so I committed to switching to Spotify, and added everything from my huge playlist onto my general Liked Songs library and went from there
So I don't have everything from my Apple library, but most of it, and then when I remember something I didn't have saved it's honestly kind of a treat
I still have been paying for Apple this whole time though because I'm scared to lose my offline library

Not a concrete top 10 or anything but here's some stuff I really liked this year
Scaring The Hoes - Jpegmafia x Danny Brown
Sunburn - Dominic Fike
A Great Chaos - Ken Carson
Sandhills - Toro y Moi
Cracker Island - Gorillaz
Leak Out - SahBabii (technically 2022 but late)
Quest For Fire - Skrillex
Larger Than Life - Brent Faiyaz
All the ICYTWAT projects
Plus Danny Brown dropping next week I'm anticipating will be great
Lots of great individual songs outside of those, I've kind of been moving from listening to albums all the time to playlists of songs

It started out that way, but things started turning around in May and the last few months have been legitimately good. Definitely not the worst year ever for music.
