It will only take one killer app (metaverse) and several celebrity endorsements to make this thing take off with the public

People shouldn’t look at metaverses as completely separate from reality, but instead as an evolution of the internet. VR, AR, and NFTs will play a huge role in the internets future

I believe so. The only reason we attach to superficial virtual communities is because we can't find similar attachments irl. It's a unhealthy coping mechanism, imo.

You're comparing the metaverse to escapism entertainment, which is fine...but when it bleeds into a substitution for reality is where I think it's harmful.

I don’t think it will be used as a substitute. More like A counterpart to our current reality. It will be no different than smart phones. Sure, we have VR goggles right now, but I could see development of AR glasses or something. Basically merging our reality with the digital one. Just watch , it will be interesting
