KTT fetishism for numbers truly is something I'll never understand
You would understand if your favorite artist put up numbers consistently.
You would understand if your favorite artist put up numbers consistently.
You ain't getting none of his money the f*** would you care about an artist streaming numbers
go outside and touch grass
When has Tyler ever been a hit maker? He’s not that type of artist to remain on charts
Your album being stable has absolutely nothing with being a hitmaker. Lil Uzi's album was stable for months with 0 hits. Same with Pop Smoke's album. People were just consuming the entire albums and that was reflected in the numbers. If people f*** with your album enough, it'll do numbers consistently. Maybe not enough to remain in the top 10, but it'll be stable.
I don't wish anything I couldn't care less about being the only one listening to the artist I like the most as long as the music moves me
Good for you, I guess.
No wonder he/she is a Drake stan and the numbers point is used so frequently to dodge the music's quality that it became a go to argument for them now when they're discussing any kind of music. Everything gotta revolve around numbers or it would disqualify their fav achievements
the irony is you're doing the opposite of that.
If this album really is AOTY like half this forum said only a month ago why arent yall listening to it anymore? Do yall just love hearing something insane and then just intentionally never listen to it again? it's ridiculous
It’s also weird who niggas comparing Tyler to.
T is an artist that’s somewhat mainstream with more of a core fan base than anything. His strengths lie in his tours, merch sales and selling out carnivals.
Doja is a pop star whose full potential hasn’t even been reached yet she’s popular as hell already and Migos known for making long ass albums just boost the streams
people said this same s*** about Travis until Birds/Astroworld and Migos until Culture 1, it's an excuse for an artist not being able to create highly replayable music. People aren't popstars until they are, we saw this with rap in the mid 2010s, barely any rapper was putting up long term numbers until like 2015
Good for you, I guess.
So the bigger the checks Drake receives the happier you are
you know that this man ain't your father or part of your family huh ?
People still trying to wrap their head around thier artistic fav getting lapped by Ari’s boyfriend
The "you need massive hits to have a steady album on the charts" argument isn't just weak, it's false. Too many examples of albums with 0 hits lasting long up high on the charts for people to still be saying that in 2021.
Just for reference, Cole's last 3 albums spent:
4YEO: 7 weeks in the top 10.
KOD: 6 weeks in the top 10. TOS: 5 weeks in the top 10.
In comparison: Moneybagg Yo's album has spent 11 weeks in the top 10 and is more stable than The Off Season.
the irony is you're doing the opposite of that.

Yeah of course 393902202020 persons said on KTT that it was their AOTY and the numbers are obviously showing that they were lying
You ain't getting none of his money the f*** would you care about an artist streaming numbers
go outside and touch grass
Why the f*** wouldn't I care? You spend hours on this site discussing artists, do you get paid for it in any way?
You're really stupid. You don't have s*** else to say and now you're moving to silly arguments.

You really are a bumbling buffoon.

Numbers may not tell the WHOLE story but they always tell a part of it. It's just that when that story doesn't fit the narrative of some people's artists, they'll try to s*** on it.
They'll claim numbers don't matter yet all their favorite artists will go to any length to put up numbers with their albums in that first week. Even underground artists wish their music could put up numbers. It's a reflection of interest and engagement from people and more importantly, that's money lol.
Critical acclaim is great but imagine if movies didn't put up numbers? Some of my favorite movies had all the acclaim in the world but because they bombed in the box office, they never got that much-needed sequel.
I just feel like if you're a mainstream artist with millions of fans around the world who makes music that's good enough to put up numbers (even if it's only massive in that first week), you can't exempt yourself from being judged on the same level as other mainstream artists, commercial-wise.

I'm talking about the music which we all have a direct link to since we're all able to listen it. Now WHY IN HELL would I (or anyone) talk about the profits that end up in the artists bank accounts since we have literally no direct link to it.
Like is Drake bout to reward some y'all by paypaling y'all a share of the profits or is he just gon hop in the new Bentley he's going to buy with it while y'all eating sauceless pastas ?

They’re wrong but your point is also kind of wrong too. Fans of any artist use something to justify an artist’s music or discredit another’s. Just like Ye fans use the opinions/scores of white hip hop experts from Pitchfork and other “critics” to validate their feelings of his music. It’s all subjective at the end of the day. Numbers just equate popularity.
Last time I checked I had 20+ listens of Tyler’s album and I’m a Drake stan

I get this genuinely but at the end of the day the P4K grades are still talking about music and no extra s*** that none us should care about when we're listening. So yeah they still comparing numbers but these numbers don't hold the same meaning

I'm not talking about the profits. You're the one who brought that up. I'm talking about the numbers which are a reflection of ACTUAL engagement from people. The same way anyone would mention Tyler/Travis selling out a stadium for their festival or selling out an arena tour or selling out bucketloads of merch. Yes, that translates to numbers but who cares about the profits they make off that? As a fan, you care that they can even do those numbers because it's a reflection of interest and engagement. You're the one who brought up profits and Drake's bank accounts like I ever mentioned that and now you're trying to act like I'm so concerned about how much he makes. Go back in the thread and see who brought up money. It was YOU.
You're trying your best to come off as stupid but for some reason, I believe you're not nearly as stupid as you want to seem. You get what I'm saying. You're just acting obtuse.

This is you bringing up money (and trying to act like that's what my point was about), something I never mentioned.
You would understand if your favorite artist put up numbers consistently.
does it give you validation that other people think it’s good or are you just happy to see them winning

ACTUAL engagement from people shouldn't mean anything when talking about your feelings about someone's music that's my whole point.
Imma play it dumb just like you and ask you if Post Malone should be more rewarded than Tyler since the ACTUAL engagement from people on his music is way higher ? Should we reward the Kid Laroi too ? Or if we only want to talk about MUSIC we're all in agreement that Tyler is making far superior music ?
Y'all sound like DJ Khaled when he was all happy and s*** when Igor left the top 20 and his trash ass album was still charting
