Not counting the latest K-Pop spending spree the three biggest song are currently all country for the first time in decades and also tied to controversies regarding race

This is the latest to be in the news with it being a pro police song with some pretty violent lyrics and dog whistles while conveniently filmed outside a court used for lynchings

The song itself is inoffensive but Morgan Wallen has been a controversial name ever since he was filmed saying the N word and his career only got bigger and bigger from there much to the surprisement of 90% of people

This one isn’t a major deal but is a full cover of Tracy Chapman’s iconic hit Fast Car and received some comments for the fact it’s outpeaked the original and what not
and with how America has been the past few years…
is this a sign of tides shifting in the USA?
The last one is a non-issue if people are just mad that it’s outperforming the original.
But yes there does seem to be a tide shifting on the charts where safe pop & country is making a return to the forefront. Interested to see how long it ends up lasting.
Morgan is having an insane run right now though
The people who listen to this s*** live in the whitest parts of America.
The diverse cities are where black people get herded in ghettos and thrown in jail.
Your consumer preference is not that important compared to actual material conditions.
country artists and its fans been racist
As if these artists are actual "country"

it’s people being uncomfortable with the original being a very much black lesbian song being turned into a standard white guy country song
idk though if very many right wingers are streaming it to own the libs tho
Luke's version is worse but he doesn't belong here lol
OP talking about dog whistles and then does an elastic man stretch on the last song

I mean it’s just a cover though, Luke didn’t do anything wrong by covering it. That one seems like Twitter just being mad about nothing per usual
Culturally there is a shift going on with conservative ideas leaking into pop culture which leads to songs like this to rise up the charts.
Also the first song was probably made to drum up controversy anyway.
for what it’s worth fast car isn’t that bad of a song and i don’t like country at all (original obviously better)
i’m just pointing out discussions i’ve seen
