Let me preface what I’m about to say by saying first that I was one of Platner’s biggest supporters, as you can see by all of my posts itt lol

• first to your question about whether we would have heard about this story if Platner had lost: the answer is obviously no, given that he doesn’t currently have a job in politics so he would have no longer been a public figure at all if he lost, so no one would care.

• the timing question you brought up is the same thing that got brought up with Kavanaugh’s and Clarence Thomas and other political figures’ sexual misconduct “why is it only now that we’re hearing about this?” Literally the same exact thing republicans said about Kavanaugh and Thomas lol. The reason is pretty obvious to me: there’s tons of sexual assault that goes unreported because victims are scared to speak. In those other two cases and with Platner, they see this as their last opportunity to speak before that person that did something heinous gets an immense amount of power. And they get the media to provide them with support in telling their story.

• and last thing I’ll say is to its legitimacy — there has been tons of thorough reporting work done to get evidence to back up the claims. Platner has given no evidence to the contrary. If this actually was false, it’s an easy defamation lawsuit for him, and if the evidence was BS it wouldn’t hold up in the fact finding of the lawsuit. But I hear nothing of him trying to bring a lawsuit or provide any counter evidence. Not to mention you piece that together with all the other bits and pieces of info that have popped up over the last month in reporting about how he is not someone to believe…there’s no reason to see the victims claims as anything to doubt.

If Stevens ends up winning will she even get this kind of support against Rogers? I seriously doubt it. We have to overturn citizens united and pass campaign finance reforms.

This weekend he has campaign rallies with Bernie and AOC in Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids. I think it will be very close, but he can still win this.

I'm feeling like Abdul is going to sweep the primary . Stevens is low-key looking like a joke and I see a lot of Abdul signs around. They're really pushing her 50m dollar backing and her AIPAC ties and I think it's really doing something.

The actual election will be tough, but I wouldn't be too surprised if he comes out as the underdog winner. Would be a huge statement for sure, but Michigan is a very hick state tbh. It's like the South in the North low-key.

And I feel like Americans have zero room to talk about how unrealistic his, or any progressive candidates goals are when they voted Trump's pedo con ass in for a second time lmao. As if he doesn't have a track record of being a vain conman, yet it seems people have more faith in him than an actual honest person.
