She was definitely the “better of two evils” vote for us (tbf the candidate she ran against was so immensely pathetic even Trump wouldn’t vouch for her) but she is essentially Hillary-lite. Bold strategy to alienate both Rs and progressives (wouldn’t even call myself a Dem) not even 6 months in!
Man, most of these Virginia dems trash. They do some s*** about guns or something related to the Confederacy for political points but side with corporations and the military throughout their term.

Virginia in a nutshell. Confederacy f**s in the south and military industrial complex and government contractors in the north.

And now Virginia is up there with the most data centers in the country
Platner is for sure winning this race. This woman voted for the wars and we haven't had a draft since Vietnam.

Bruh I’m getting anxious as hell just watching her from her tremors, feel like she’s gonna spontaneously combust into ashes at any moment
f*** it, im biting the bullet and voting for steyer in cali's governor race. as much as i want ramsey robinson to win, the latest polling has becerra too high to justify voting only on principle rather than pragmatism

I always viewed the notion that black voters cost Bernie the nomination in 2020 as flawed — it was the South (specifically South Carolina) voters that cost him the nomination.
Southern voters (black, white, Latino, etc.) are the most conservative voters (whether registered Democrat or Republican) in the whole country.
So if the DNC chose to make two Southern states be the front end of the primary, the Dem nominee in 2028 may end up being the most conservative Dem nominee in a long f***ing time 🤮

Can you explain Becerra's success to me? I've heard a bunch of Californians complain about Newsom, but this guy seems like he would be much of the same, if not worse..

His success is actually very simple: California is the biggest faux progressive state out there, and the biggest Establishment Dem state out there.
Our state loves to virtue signal that we’re so progressive and that we truly care about others, but when it comes time to vote for propositions that are actually progressive they are voted down (that’s why I don’t have confidence in the wealth tax passing here). Or when progressive candidates are on the ballot they don’t get voted for (why Karen Bass is going to beat Nithya in LA too).
I will say this though, the fact that Steyer (who on paper is a pretty s***ty progressive candidate — old dude, billionaire, invested in questionable things, low charisma, buying his way to relevancy) is polling at nearly the top with an extremely progressive policy agenda, it does give me hope and optimism that if there was an actual charismatic progressive candidate in California they might have a chance. They might get elected over whoever the establishment choice is.
Now the reason Becerra is likely about to make me $1,700 richer (I bought shares that he would win on Kalshi when he was at 8% on there 😂) is because once Swalwell dropped out, he became the only legitimate DNC establishment option. I initially bought stock in Katie Porter (thinking she would become it), but dropped it and switched to Becerra because I realized that people don’t like her because of the “scandal” stuff (hostility towards her workers or something).
The bottom line is majority of Dems in California vote for whoever they think party leaders want them to vote for (it’s regarded, yes). And Becerra (who is a Biden admin alum, and has always toed the party line), fits the bill — he’s a “generic Democrat” and that’s what most of the people here want lmao.
Also if you’ll recall in my previous post about this state being “faux progressive” — it doesn’t hurt that he would be the first Latino governor, Dems love virtue signaling here. And older Latino boomers that have always voted DNC would probably love it too.
Ok last thing — if you go back to page 5 of this thread, you’ll see I made a post in April when my union endorsed Steyer and Becerra supporters came out mad
In that post I thought it was paid Becerra workers, but I’ve since realized that moment was organic (one of the reasons I invested in Becerra stock).
Establishment Dems in California are passionate about the Democratic Party and do not like outsiders
Turns out Paxton was actually onto something for that Talefreako nickname, mans is smanging straight freaks

Maine senate race legit the most interesting election in ages, Platner gonna have all these controversies and still win

after s***pest swalwell dropped out of the race, all his establishment democrat supporters seemed to have flocked to becerra's milquetoast ass

Unless something truly insane gets released, there is no way he will lose this race. You see all of these corporate Dems coming out propping up this texting "scandal" and voters simply don't care. His messaging is just too good and Susan is dog s***.

That McDonald lady sounds soooo salty that she left the campaign before it blew up and is dying for relevancy

She joined another campaign and they said she resigned this morning. She has no future in the Democratic party, so I hope she was paid well by whoever pushed her to release this info.
Whole lotta big primaries tonight, the California results likely won’t be finalized for a few days though (because of mail in ballots)
Saw comedian Josh Johnson call Trump the Obama for poor uneducated whites recently.
Steven’s is an unreal person
Idk. It feels like the left populism movement still hasn’t found strong cross over appeal yet so I’m worried about all of their races not just the primaries
Y'all still believe in democracy?
