aight caps lock s***posting after an emotional weekend aside
whether it's a grammy or a BET award or any award, I personally just don't put emotional stockage into who wins what or who is most nominated on what platform in all seriousness. When you work in an industry where you meet/work with grammy winners and see exactly what type of s*** that can get you (and/or who the type of people that really REALLY REALLY I mean REALLY live and die over that s***, people that have had depressive episodes over just getting nominated), it kinda rings hollow to me personally.
Which is all completely normal it’s not my emotional stock . Do artist and their teams deserve that ? Yes . Some of my favorite artist winning grammys during their best eras would have helped them . In this streaming era awards help some artists see they are appreciated

imo as an artist that just shows this era is horribly wrong.
are they not Grammy artist level or do you just not see them being acknowledged by them?
Mid-Air. by Paris Texas sounded GRAMMY level to me
Said a lot not all . I think they exist that’s why I asked who they thought deserved it so I can discover new artist . I will listen to that now

Tyler put em on his chromakopia tour because of that album
that's the kind of recognition I believe more in than the awards for example

Flying lotus went from making the greatest albums of our time to making movies . So he is one where I wish he got a Grammy . Glad he got credit for tpab but he deserved one in his own right . Kamasi for epic . Thunder cat for drunk
Carti getting no love at the Grammys is actually crazy i just realized
went legit should’ve been nominated
Wonder if he submitted for consideration . Also please tell me chance was too late to submit because if not that’s a bonkers snub

a week before cutoff
The Cure won a Grammy for "Best Alternative Music Album", a category that included Tyler, The Creator's Don't Tap The Glass lol. It's really not worth caring about this stuff.
Would have been a dope win for Glo
Don't even think she showed up this year. Still got a decade to go before rappers like Glo would actually win these.
Chance getting no nominations on one of his best albums while tv off wins
Chance finally being actually independent for the 1st time in his career meaning there are still people (that was CRAZY fans of Coloring Book and Acid Rap) in real life that don't even know Chance dropped a new album dawg.

chance
Yeah Grammy's aren't an objective measure of anything and there have been a lot of stinkers awarded over the years. But let's not pretend we wouldn't be proud if a friend or a family member won one. Just like you'd be proud of they had a number one album
S*** I'm the type to wanna win awards so I'll see my friends and family happy and proud and be able to talk s*** to people. They're who I do it for.
I've won a few NAACP awards in college and while I was happy and proud about winning them (definitely hit the Kanye Grammy pose with the trophies in my hands) what really meant a lot to me was the tears of joy and pride from my grandfather who immigrated to this country and my uncle who flexed about me winning to other inmates from a jail phone.
Ultimately, everybody gotta reason to wanna win award. Everybody gotta reason to care about these awards. I just find it lame when people try to discredit an award or the work an artist put into their craft that got them to win an award, cause they ain't winning. It just screams weak b**** ass loser energy to me
Like, the view counts on some of these Chance visuals during Star Line just show that bro is just not that visible as he was back in the days.
Shows what happens when you legit dont have the machine behind you anyways. Like I said, independent for the 1st time in his career.
And this ain't shade, Star Line was my favorite album of last year.
